Young Mom Connections
Young Mom Connections provides opportunities for young mothers to come together to build community and learn life skills. During YMC, mothers and their children enjoy a home cooked meal, followed by mothers engaging in meaningful programing relevant to their personal growth and development lead by knowledge and supportive facilitators while their child is taken care of by loving volunteers.
What you will expect at YMC:
Encouragement - We’ve all been placed in this time and place in history, as women who are raising the world. And the beauty of it is that while we don’t all have to agree on everything we can still learn from and support each other.
Inspiration - You can do big things. We want to help you gain the confidence to be an extraordinary mom able to take care of yourself and your kids.
Strength Talk - Learn that you are not alone in your struggles. We talk about dating, sex, money, conflict, healthy choices, kids, school … you name it… we’ll talk about it.
Practical Help - Learn great mom tips and tricks from speakers who know you may have had only three hours of sleep last night so they’d better keep it interesting.
Fun Activities - Take a break, have some fun, learn something new!
Child Care - You love your kids, but lets be honest, a little break now and then is a good thing! Your kiddos will love the nursery, and you’ll get some down time.

Plus One events equip pregnant teens with knowledge and understanding of pregnancy and childbirth education. These Open House style events include a variety of learning stations focused on:
Labor & Delivery
A nurse is available to answer questions and guide the teens through the stations. Teens are given a small gift at each learning station, a “baby bump” photo op and free pass to shop at Chloe’s Closet. We welcome a supportive relative or friend to participate. These events serve as a first step for many teens to learn about the services provided by CHLOE.
Teen moms live on a slippery slope, too many slip into poverty, despair and abuse with their children in tow. One of the primary entanglements that create disparities for teen moms is lack of education. Teen moms are caught in a web of life changes, physical and emotional upheaval and a myriad of options to prioritize. Keeping up with school work, too often slides off the grid. Recognizing that only half of teen moms receive a high school education by age 20, we are compelled to take action.
CHLOE’s Learning Lab provides study help and childcare for enrolled teen moms. We are committed to helping achieve their educational aspirations.
Process to enroll:
A teen mom or her mentor may schedule a 1-2 hour study session by contacting our main office (614-477-1426)
CHLOE staff arranges for both a study partner and childcare volunteer for the assigned time. Study help occurs at our CHLOE Resource Center.
CHLOE points are earned according to study time completed. Moms may use CHLOE points to redeem items at our CHLOE’s Closet.

Safe Sitter® is a program designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue!
The Safe Sitter Curriculum is divided into 4 sections:
- Safety Skills
Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
- Life & Business Skills
The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through a variety of role plays.
- Child Care Skills
Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.
- First Aid & Rescue Skills
Learning skills such as choking rescue and CPR is often students' favorite part of the class. Students also learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Shaken Baby Syndrome Course
It’s a baby’s job to cry… It is your job to cope!
1200-1600 infants and toddlers are victims of Non-Accidental Brain Trauma each year in the USA. Shaken Baby Syndrome is 100% preventable!
CHLOE launched a Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention project in August of 2011. CHLOE provides interactive presentations and prevention handouts at community events, middle school and high school classrooms, and social service agencies.
“Zoe,” our Shaken Baby Simulation Doll is instrumental in saving the lives of babies in our community by demonstrating the devastation that violently shaking a baby can cause.
